About The Swan Tavern

A beautiful 2 bar pub set in an alley that leads to the equally beautiful Leadenhall Market. The downstairs marble topped bar is probably the smallest bar in London but this doesn’t stop the thirsty hoards descending upon it and spilling out into the passage. It has been presided over for 15 years by Alfonso, who, as well as quenching the thirst of thousands, keeps the bar looking immaculate. He is to the Swan what the ravens are to the Tower of London-who knows what will happen should he ever leave?

Upstairs is a slightly larger bar with an open fire that looks down upon the passing hoards below. Small and cosy, it’s usually filled with thirsty business people from nearby.

In 2009 The Swan won the coveted title of Fullers City Pub of the Year.
